Effects of Testosterone treatment on Type 2 Diabetes and Bone Health: Insights from the T4DM and T4Bone studies

Description

Professor Mathis Grossmann presents the design and results of the Testosterone for Diabetes Mellitus (T4DM) and the Testosterone for Bone (T4Bone) trial. The aim of the T4DM trial was to determine whether treatment with testosterone undecanoate injection prevents progression to, or reverses early type 2 diabetes, beyond the effects of a community-based, standardized lifestyle program.

The aim of the T4Bone sub-study was to determine the effect of testosterone treatment on bone microarchitecture using high resolution–peripheral quantitative computed tomography (HR-pQCT).
